Says my dear friend Liz. She's right though. It's not a REAL fibrous, nutrient packed vegetable. Sure, it's low calories, no fat and zero carbs and it's a great filler, but it's not enough.
She's always on me to eat more vegetables. She's so good about eating hers. She eats a damn fruit or vegetable at every meal. I dont even think I eat one vegetable a day. She's my veggie idol. LOL
So since she's always on me, beginning next week I'm going to make it a goal of mine to get at least 2 servings of vegetables in every day. Hey, it's a start. Don't be a judger.
Until then, I'll continue avoiding them like the plague.
Moving onto today...
This was my breakfast this morning.... (ignore the laminating machine in the background)
1 individual Dannon Light and Fit Vanilla yogurt
4 Driscolls strawberries (sliced)
1/4 cup cinnamon granola
8 grams of protein
I get tired of the same ol same ol for breakfast. I can only eat oatmeal so often, and as we all know, I go through phases of eating the same things for weeks at a time, so it looks like I'll be having yogurt parfaits for awhile.
Lunch today was chicken tacos again... For those that keep asking for the pictures... here ya go! Sorry I've been slackin at photographing my food. I'll try to be better about it.
2 Mission Extra Thin Corn Tortillas - THANK YOU Carolyn for the recommendation
1/4 cup shredded cheddar
4 oz shredded chicken breast cooked in Franks Red Hot Sauce
38 grams of protein
Today was the last day for these. Thank god, because while they're delicious, they're not filling and I'm hungry an hour later....which takes me to my afternoon snack.
Reason #3 why I hate bars... they NEVER fill me up. 30 minutes after this, I had a snack size bag of cheez its.
Dinner tonight was another taco salad. (no photo sorry)
4 oz Ground Turkey
1/2 cup Bushes Low Sodium Black beans
1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped romaine
2 tbsp ranch dressing
Topped with 2 tbsp McCormick Santa Fe Salad Topping (my new favorite find!)
After dinner I went to the gym and I was able to run!! YAHOO!! This makes me incredibly happy! Granted, it was only a mile, and only at 4.5 mph, vs my 3 miles at 5.0-5.5 mph, BUT it's a start headed in the right direction again.
Today was a cardio only day for me and in 60 minutes, I managed 636 calories.
